Position Overview
The Junior Officer – Quality Control (Chemistry) is responsible for sampling, analysis, and reporting of raw materials, packing materials, in-process samples, and finished goods. The role ensures compliance with internal quality systems, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements while supporting a strong quality and food/feed safety culture at the Anniyalam plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sampling and chemical analysis of Raw Materials (RM), Packing Materials (PM),
Inprocess samples, SemiFinished Goods (SFG), and Finished Goods (FG) as per
approved methods. - Ensure timely entry, review, and reporting of analysis results in LIMS.
- Generate and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and need-based QC reports to the Quality
Head. - Implement and sustain 5S practices within the QC laboratory.
- Coordinate calibration of QC instruments as per the approved schedule and maintain
calibration and service records. - Maintain instruments in good working condition and ensure data integrity.
- Meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs) for internal customers.
- Support investigation and root cause analysis of customer complaints and quality issues.
- Support GMP+ and other applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Carry out Environmental Monitoring (EM) sampling of production areas as per schedule and ensure timely reporting.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and traceable quality documentation.
- Contribute to reduction of QC-related rework and waste through preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use data trends and analytics to identify quality risks and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Production, Stores, R&D, Procurement, and other functions for smooth day-to-day operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in Quality Control within pharmaceutical, food, animal health,
nutraceutical, or related regulated industries.
